Because of the infinite reach of the human mind, there are infinitely many things someone else may think about you. Luckily, you are the only person who experiences your life, and you have a leg up on learning yourself. When you explain yourself to someone else, they have to construct their own theories, even simulations, of what you’re telling them, and those conclusions will usually differ from what you’ve actually understood about yourself, unless you hold a good explanation of it to begin with.
Infinite reach cuts both ways. The same reach that lets you know yourself also lets you not know yourself in the slightest. What follows from this is that the less you know yourself, the less anyone else can. If you can’t even begin to offer a good explanation of who you are, how do you expect others to follow it through their own flawed process?
Learn yourself. Grow to understand your tendencies and come up with grounded explanations for them. Whether it’s your worst problem that needs to be resolved, or your most beautiful trait, know why it is there. Know yourself.
